Today’s Employee Spotlight is shining on Sara Vos, a Customer Service Representative for San Jose Water. If you ever give our customer service line a call, it might just be Sara’s friendly hello that greets you!
Sara joined the SJW team in May 2023, all thanks to a chance meeting with Director of Customer Service, Sharon Whaley. Sharon came into the restaurant Sara was working in at the time, and they got to chatting about a water-themed tattoo that Sara has. Sara shared her love of water, pointing to the fact that even her last name is similar to Voss water! Sharon told her that she should apply to come work at SJW, and the rest is history.
Sara shares that she loves the positive impact working at SJW has had on her. Sara was a bartender for 11 years and would work at two or three bars/restaurants at the same time before starting with SJW. She truly appreciates the amount of free time she has now, and is beyond grateful to have met Sharon at the restaurant that day!
Sara is originally from Vancouver, Canada and first moved out to San Jose in 2015. She has moved around quite a bit, but always comes back to San Jose. Her hobbies are very San Jose-centric: when not rocking the phones at SJW, Sara enjoys car shows, hockey games, going to wine tastings and activities like mini golf, axe throwing, bowling and the gym.
