SJW & CWA Partner with Local State Reps to Donate Thanksgiving Meals
Giving back with Operation Gobble, SJW hosts annual Bay Area charitable event
San Jose, Calif. November 20, 2024 - San Jose Water (SJW) is ensuring residents in the greater San Jose area can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with the donation of Safeway gift cards as part of its annual Operation Gobble program. Grocery gift cards will be donated to:
- East Palo Alto Senior Center and Fondo de Solidaridad de Mountain View on behalf of State Senator Josh Becker
- West Valley Community Services on behalf of Assemblymember Marc Berman
- Mandas Amino Y Amistad (M.A.Y.A) Services on behalf of State Senator Dave Cortese
- Sunnyvale Community Services on behalf of Assemblymember Evan Low
- Catholic Charities on behalf of Assemblymember Gail Pellerin
- The Afghan Coalition on behalf of State Senator Dr. Aisha Wahab
The California Water Association (CWA) established the Operation Gobble program with the purpose of partnering water utilities with non-profit organizations across the state to make donations during Thanksgiving to support families facing hardship.
“It is an honor to participate in Operation Gobble and partner with our elected officials and local organizations to give a hand to families in need during the holiday season,” said Tanya Moniz-Witten, President at San Jose Water. “We are committed to improving the quality of life in the communities we serve. Participating in CWA’s Operation Gobble each year is a tangible way to give back and promote community health throughout the region.”
On Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:00 am, District Representative Saul Miranda representing Senator Becker, District Director Kevin Fong representing Assemblymember Berman, Assemblymember Low, Assemblymember Pellerin, Senator Wahab, a representative for Senator Cortese, and representatives from East Palo Alto Senior Center, Fondo de Solidaridad de Mountain View, West Valley Community Services, Mandas Amino Y Amistad (M.A.Y.A) Services, Sunnyvale Community Services, Catholic Charities, and the Afghan Coalition will be in attendance at San Jose Water headquarters located at 110 W.
